Funeral Home Reviews
I was more than pleased with the personal attention our family was given. This country funeral home was amazing in the service they provided for my mother. Yes, I would recommend them to anyone wanting qualify service for a reasonable price. Thank you staff at the Mcintyre funeral home. - ()

Steer clear of Clines Mortuary! Someone very close to me recently passed away. Cookie Cline was hired to do the funeral and make the arrangements, typical funeral director stuff. I should mention that my family is far from 'well-off', so we put together a pretty modest funeral and bought the casket elsewhere. We were charged nearly $9k for his services, which had to be paid in full before anything happened, forcing us to take out a loan until the insurance arrives. This was non negotiable, and he already had our loved one. Then the night of the wake... It was held in Victoria, where the paneling on the walls is still from the 70's, end tables and desks were all water stained with the finish coming off, and the mens room was out of order. I along with numerous people heard Cookie cussing freely, being extremely condescending when asked questions, also being exceptionally rude to mothers with fussy babies or children (almost yelling), and telling jokes about his dick and circumcision. On top of all this, he began taking down flowers at 8:30 and rudely forced us to leave the funeral home at 8:37pm. ("Time to go to your cars guys. Time to go home.") That doesn't seem like a big deal until you think about the few *minutes* you have left to see someone you cared about forever. The day of the funeral, he knowingly allowed someone to 'sneak' something into the casket without the spouses consent, which wasn't realized until later in the day after it was all said and done. Immediately after finishing services at the cemetery (which was unmowed with grass 8" tall, pallbearers nearly tripped multiple times), Cookie instructed us all to leave, citing the luncheon as his reason. He literally told someone to grab the sobbing spouses wheelchair and take her to the car because people are waiting on her. Overall, my family paid Cookie Cline almost $9k (services only, casket not included) for an outdated, unmaintained facility where he was extremely rude and disrespectful while putting forth an unacceptably minimal amount of work or care. All this being said, I beg you to reconsider choosing Clines Mortuary should you find yourself in a position that requires the type of services he offers... This is far from the mortuary Harold Cline operated. For the sake and dignity of your loved one, find a different funeral director. Please share this so others know what they might expect when hiring Cookie Cline. - ()

The experience I had with this funeral home was unsatisfactory. There return calls when left message was poor. There was no communication between the employees. - ()

I cannot recommend this funeral home at all. The older gentleman who runs it has zero compassion. He talked about how he didn't like the job, couldn't wait to retire, showed off his new watch. The thing that really still bothers me is at the cemetery he was standing behind the navy guard handing me a flag with paperwork in hand, I don't remember the navy mans speech as I was being distracted by this sims guy leaning over his shoulder waiting for him to get done. The minute the guard handed me the flag and left there was this man handing me a flag holder and thanking me for my business. My daughter had broken down on my shoulder when the flag was presented, and I couldn't even comfort her because this guy was in such a rush to get out of there, I had to u hug my daughter to accept the paper work. Everyone noticed but because of the situation didn't intercede. It was appealing, and that's the memory Of my husbands service I'm stuck with. I had to leave the room several times during the planning stage because of his insensitivity, and let my sister speak for me. I looked a headstones there but was so mad at this man I decided to choose one later, and I'm glad I did. I went to wire grass memorial for the headstone and was quoted a price two and a half times cheaper and nicer then the one sims quoted me. I highly recommend speaking to wiregrass memorial before going to sims. They don't do the service but can tell you who is good or not. - ()

As there is no compition for business in the surrounding communities this funeral home did not treat my family with "respect, dignity, and understanding" (as on Ertels funeral chapel website). Four Corners Funeral Chapel is also owned by the same owners of Ertels. Making our experience difficult. Not only did we receive misinformed information, but when trying to straighten it out, hung up on! - ()

they refused to do the wishes of mr Wilkinson on his death, they let a distant relative threaten them as the service was to be with his special ,friends and a few neighbors notified. also they lied to us about receving a death certificate and the cremation order from dane co reg of deeds as to when they were sent. I and my family will take every opportunity to tell what the director did and obviously will not recommend them for a family or non family member in the futual 10 people will repeat this experience to any one they talk to and on;y one may pass on a good remark I do not recommend this outfit for any service - ()

The owner tried to commit insurance fraud on a life insurance policy and has been reported to the proper governing board. He lied, harassed and made very inappropriate remarks to me and other family members. He is a disgrace to this industry and the community of Eufaula. Please take your business elsewhere! - ()

This by far is one of the worst funeral home I had to deal with. The only day he was nice was when he came by to pick up my grandmother. After the contract was signed he was rude to my family and friends completely UNPROFESSIONAL. I would never EVER recommend this place to anyone and hope he loses business. It is a very difficult time when a family member passes and the people running this funeral home does NOT understand that. I truly hope people read this before choosing this funeral home. - ()

I would NEVER recommend this funeral home to anyone. I would never want a family to experience what mine did. It started when my mother in law passed and they sent one person to pick up her body. They had the two son's and grandsons place her in the body bag and carry her down the steps and outside to the van to take her away. Her head was exposed and even the neighbors were in disbelief. When I questioned Carol at Fink Funeral Home she said they were short handed and that was why only one person showed up to pick her up.. I had asked her what would of happened if my 84 year old father in law had been there alone and she said then they would have called the police for assistance, but they didn't do that. My husband will have that memory of his mom in that bag until the day he dies......ITS UNACCEPTABLE! The obituary had her name spelled wrong, the typing had mistakes and the grammar was deplorable. Doesn't anyone proof read this things?. The death certificate had the wrong social security number and I was told the corrected ones were in the mail. I never received them and after numerous phone calls I had to go myself to Vital Records and repay for them myself. When I kept calling Carol for these she said to me, "well they are coming from Glen Burnie." Il live in Baltimore County and mail arrives within a day or 2. Again, we never received them when I kept calling her, she hung up on me. I wouldn't even give this hole in the wall a1 star rating. Do yourselves a favor and go to a reputable place for your loved ones, this is NOT THE PLACE TO GO ! Save your family the grief mine had to suffer !!!! - ()

Be very careful with this funeral home. They may lack honesty, and or diligence. A year ago we lost a parent/In-Law. We used Modell because the parent's spouse was handled through them. During the arrangements ,with the owners daughter, we informed her that the Parent had changed it's mind, and instead of the full burial package, the Parent had previously decided on, the parent wanted Cremation, and a Memorial service at our Church. The Pastor had become a good friend. The Daughter worked with us on the Urn, cards and the arrangements of the remains. Yet, it appeared to us that she became preoccupied with other matters and wanted to give us over to someone else as soon as she could. On later reflection we questioned ourselves on her leaving us was due to the amount of money we were not spending. Months passed as I went through boxes of the parent's records, gotten food poisoning, and spent weeks sipping Broth and sleeping. As we did not pay in full immediately Modell put the account into collection. While recovering I spent an hour in the morning and another in the afternoon back in the boxes. Discovering, in a bundle of old Bank records, a Customer's copy of a Forethought Funeral Insurance policy written by Modell Funeral Home. I contacted Modell and the daughter answered. I told her what I had discovered, and her immediate response was how glad she was that she was not the person to have handled this. How that person should have checked the records. (She must have been doing something else when she spent over ten minutes checking, or she did find the records?, we do not know). She then asked to take care of the matter for us, for which I declined, having no confidence or trust in her or them. The story continues but the above is the essentials. I still question myself on whether or not she was diligent, or if she had found the policy. Did she have a lack of memory in handling us, or was she trying to cover herself. Did she put us in collection to further gain funds and cover themselves? What was nice, was that in the final meeting she never gave us or offer us any credit for there lack of service, Professional to the end. Oh, I forgot they messed up the cards. - ()

Today is the anniversary of the passing of our father on March 3, 2014. When the mail arrived we had a card from Gary and Patsy Comer, honoring the anniversary of his passing. We remembered how thoughtful and gentle they were to us when we were so vulnerable in our sorrow. The quality of service that Gary provided us when we needed him is extraordinary. - ()

Mark and everyone else at Adams did a real good job on putting together the service and even set up a Military Honors service at Dayton National Cemetery for my father. He even assisted me with ways to receive financial support at the VA. Thanks Adams Funeral Home. - ()
