To the Rose Danberry family:
My prayers and sympathy as you bury your dear mother, sister, friend. I have played Bridge with Rose for a couple of years at the Summit Center and have enjoyed her company. She is a wonderful lady. You will miss her very much. Treasure all the happy memories. She is still with you; she has just changed her address. May God strengthen all of you at this time of sorrow.r - (Sister Mary Donald, SSND)
MY MOTHER, THE LATE FANNIE DIXON'S BODY WAS PREPARED AT THE ALFRED LEWIS MORTUARY, 968 JEFFERSON AVENUE, BUFFALO, NY. I DELIVERED THE OBITUARY TO MRS. SMITH ON 1/2/13 FOR THE NEWS RELEASE. THERE WAS NO OBITUARY SENT TO THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER, THE BUFFALO NEWS. THEY DID NOT AFFORD THE FAMILY THE CUSTOMARY PRE-REVIEW OF HER BODY BEFORE THE WAKE AND FUNERAL ON 1/4/13. UPON THE FAMILY'S ARRIVAL FOR THE WAKE AND SERVICE WE WERE ALL SHOCKED TO SEE THAT SHE BORE NO RESEMBLANCE TO HERSELF AT ALL. HER FACE PROTRUDED WITH AN OVER ABUNDANCE OF PACKING, THE RUBY RED LIPSTICK THEY HAD ON HER WAS ABNORMAL AND WE ARE STILL IN A STATE OF SHOCK AND ANGER OVER THIS. THE LAST LOOK WE HAD OF HER REMAINS WILL BE A VISION THAT WE WILL NOT AND CANNOT FORGET. ALL WHO ATTENDED HER SERVICE WERE ALARMED BY HOW THEY MADE MY MOTHER LOOK LIKE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PERSON. WE WILL BE HAUNTED BY THIS SHOCKING MEMORY FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES. WE CANNOT GET THIS HIDEOUS VISION OF OUR MOTHER OUT OF OUR MINDS!!! PLEASE RESPOND TO 10 ELTON PLACE, BUFFALO, NY 14208. NO EMAILS PLEASE! - (LINDA DIXON)
My Aunt's service was July 3, at Rural Cemetary, at the spot her flatstone was going to be placed. All services were paid up front, but as of Jan, 2013, still no stone, Woman was very rude and insensitive, when I could finally get past their answering service, saying it was MY fault for not saying where the site was! Larry saw it, he was there! The woman said I had to call the stone engraver myself-wasn't that their job? Unpleasant experience, they just don't want to admit their mistake, I talked to other directors who agree with me, as does my attorney. Avoid this place, they just don't care... - (Thomas Sergeant)
Our family attended the service for Mary Hildebrand on Thursday the 3rd of January, 2013. The front cover of the folder was done beautifully with a picture. Then I opened the folder! The Twenty-third Psalm was on the left side covering another picture of the husband and wife. The right side, said that service was at 1:00 a.m. REALLY....Casket Bearers names, were in correct...first name and last...double wrong. Oh and the back, which could have had the darling picture of the couple, that was covered in words....was blank! Proofing is a must in this business, it will save many tears. - (Mrs. John Shepherd)
I lived in Hickory/Polk/Green counties growing up raising my family. I have moved out of state and would like to see the Obits. Can I? - (Linda Crites)
Never have I been more horrified then watching the behavior of John Mann the funeral director of the Mann Funeral Home Nunda NY
He had total disregard for his own family during the visiting hours for his Mothers funeral. His rage and anger at his son for coming to pay his respects to his grandmother was un called for. What a nightmare Mr. Mann caused. very unprofessional - (Barbara)
I find that your list of obituaries is very unreliable. You were handling the details of the death of Justin Miller who passed away on 12/26. I called Grimes to learn of the details of the service and was told arrangements hadn't been made yet, but your website would be updated immediately when finalized.
The service happened on 12/29 in Harper. I was told by a family member that the time was 3:00pm. I still returned to your website up until the time we left from home to attend.
We traveled 2 hours, from Bastrop, to attend and when we arrived learned the service began @ 2:00 instead. What is the purpose of your website if it is not to supply accurate and updated details. I think it is very irresponsible not to have this information available. Therefore I rate your funeral services rating 1 star. - (Laura Cunningham)
Dealing with CR and his crew is like dealing with a bunch of poorly trained monkeys.
My father died very suddenly, without any true preparation in funerary matters.
So you'd think that Piatt&Barnhill would take the opportunity to do the best job they could. They didn't.
Created by CR and his terrible toupee our questions were greeted by a series of bumbling "uhs" and "I don't know". If my father's body wasn't already in transit I would have walked out then and know now what I do, I should have.
But that was only the beginning. After countless clerical errors on the death certificates, they refused to mail them to us. Demanding that we stop in and pick them up.
For being in the business of helping alleviate stress and work during a time of grief theses people, they fail immensely. - (Citizen)
Your computer system is of no value, other than posting you phone number. I wasn't able to use it to find a funeral let alone the obituary. totally unacceptable. - (George Fagerstrom)
We recently worked with the Nick Lux at the Lux Schnepp Funeral Home in Crystal. I can say nothing but FABULOUS things. In such a difficult time he and his staff were not only helpful, compassionate, but personable. They were flexible in allowing me to do my mother's makeup and helped make her look like the person we all knew. I highly recommend working with the Lux family. - (Amy Upham)
Thank you for caring for my brother Dwight Henley I will miss him, he was far away from alabama. Nancy Henley is a nice wife to Dwight, Peace be to Nancy & Dwight. Happy holidays to eveyone. thank you - (jean henley tyree)
Craig Funeral Home has the most professional staff in the area. They also went out of their way to accommodate my family. If you are thinking about another funeral home then look no further. They are the best, hands down! - (Kevin cormick)
