I first learned about the Stress Index in my undergraduate studies. The Holmes Rahe Stress Scale gives a numeric value to many key life stressors, positive or negative. Over the years I've pondered the meaning of trials and sorrow that my loved ones or I have endured. Some believe there are lessons to learn from hardship. I agree. In many instances we learn compassion, empathy, faith, trust, and humility. Our own choices will often lead to natural consequences that...

Funeral Home Reviews
Gordonsville, Virginia
My wife lost her father last month and they were nothing but EXCELLENT in service and making sure everything went to our plans. I have known them for years....Gary & Randy and knew that was the best place for my Father-in-law to be when the time came......even though it was so short. Thank you Gary, and Michael for the best services/funeral anyone could of asked for for....excellent guys and they really care! Something you don't see alot of now a days. Mike & Kathi Morgan

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. The man running the place is the rudest person I've ever met. He started taking flowers off my Nanny's casket and packing her up while we were still in the funeral home crying. He and his staff made laying my Nanny to rest an absolutely horrible experience.

In contacting this funeral home with regard to the burial of a Veteran, I found them to be very elusive in providnig information to the point that they did not want the American Legion to attend the burial because "there will not be any services". When I told them we just want to pay our respects regardless of the lack of services, I received the same response - "there are not going to be any services - we just drop him off and the Veterans cemetery buries him at their leisure".

The Beggs family are the nicest, most considerate people that we have ever dealt with. We had always patronized the old firm in town that has been in business for generations. We are glad that we made the right choice this time. Attentiive, compassionate, courteous, professional and first class. We wish that would expand into the Columbia County market.
