Funeral Home Reviews
Bonifay, Florida
I cannot recommend this funeral home at all. The older gentleman who runs it has zero compassion. He talked about how he didn't like the job, couldn't wait to retire, showed off his new watch. The thing that really still bothers me is at the cemetery he was standing behind the navy guard handing me a flag with paperwork in hand, I don't remember the navy mans speech as I was being distracted by this sims guy leaning over his shoulder waiting for him to get done. The minute the guard handed me the flag and left there was this man handing me a flag holder and thanking me for my business. My daughter had broken down on my shoulder when the flag was presented, and I couldn't even comfort her because this guy was in such a rush to get out of there, I had to u hug my daughter to accept the paper work. Everyone noticed but because of the situation didn't intercede. It was appealing, and that's the memory Of my husbands service I'm stuck with. I had to leave the room several times during the planning stage because of his insensitivity, and let my sister speak for me. I looked a headstones there but was so mad at this man I decided to choose one later, and I'm glad I did. I went to wire grass memorial for the headstone and was quoted a price two and a half times cheaper and nicer then the one sims quoted me. I highly recommend speaking to wiregrass memorial before going to sims. They don't do the service but can tell you who is good or not.

Terrible greedy money makers. My 21 yr old daughter died and the only concern was selling us two more plots at discount rate. But better her it now or somebody else could buy it and ur daughter would be by a stranger. They pushed my husband to buy two more plots for our daughters who are young and not know what there future is. I paid for a stone after a year of grief just two weeks ago. I paid up front and did not get a discount as promised. Every question I had as BOB was helping me go over my design was "not a good idea" it STILL is sitting on someone's desk not even ordered! Never ever again. I'm requesting a refund!! They got my 5 thousand and sitting on it!

The funeral home itself was very clean. I must say though Steve Rains looked nothing like himself. The makeup looked caked on, like the person that did him didnt know what they where doing. His hair was also not the way he wore it either. I probably wouldn't use this company in the future due to Steve not looking like himself at all.

This funeral home sucks! I paid too much for a cremation here ($1695) and found out I overpaid by almost a $1000. What bothers me the most is the lack of compassion Barry Brewer has. It seemed like it was just business without any heart. The whole funeral home smelled so bad the first time I walked in there that I could hardly breathe. Do yourself a favor and find a different funeral home, because this one is just awful. Overpriced, not compassionate at all and smells horrible.
