Every story has two sides. North may have theirs, but here is our family's. North's Funeral Home is NOT concerned with your family during your time of grief. Our loved one, Oscar Villalobos, passed away this past week. He prearranged for his final moments with North's. Unfortunately, his final arrangements and family were handled with less respect than I'm sure he felt would happen. Apparently, every step of funeral arrangements must be made with North's for they will not guide nor assist the family unless it is paid for. The family's understanding of prearrangement did not meet the North's understanding. Please verify if all issues have been addressed: transportation of body, embalming, visitations, memorial service and certainly make sure that all these occur within their open hours otherwise it might get in the way of their evening plans. Additionally, get everything in writing and always know who with you are talking. We called and spoke with Sandy North stating we were coming in from out of town and we had flowers being sent for Oscar. She told husband they would hold them. However; we found a note on their doors DO NOT leave anything for Oscar Villalobos. Family has not made arrangements. Then, when we asked about the flowers, Ms. North told my husband they never delivered. In fact, the florist was called and told to pick them up. For a moment, let's forget the apparent lying and lack of respect. Let's say, we the family, did not make arrangements. A good business designed around service ( according to their sign, serving people for 100 years), you would think that a conversation would happen with the family to identify any shortcomings in arrangements. That they would insure all aspects were covered and a clear understanding of arrangements were made for both parties. Instead, we were told the body was in too bad of condition, it would take too long to make him look right and we wouldn't be able to see him until the next day before cremation. They did nothing to ease the family's pain and give them one last opportunity to say goodbye to a father, a grandfather, a brother...a good man. By the way, the cosmetic work they did was good. Oscar looked very natural, very much at peace. Pretty good for a body that was in "pretty bad condition". So, that is our side of this story. But, don't take our word for the service...ask anyone in Abilene. Ask the State School what their thoughts are of North's Funeral Home.

My fathers services were as nice as it couldve been with this provider. The employees wore nice suits with white gloves and were meticulous with ushering the family hurriedly through the services and into the waiting cars. My fathers obituary was butchered and when we tried to have it corrected at 8:00 pm after it was published on the website, we were told it was too late and Ms Buggs rudely said she could not send in the correction to the local paper because it would cost money, even though I offered to pay for it. My fathers name is Charles but it read "Clarence" on the obituary. My sons name was misspelled. Other family members names were changed even though we tried do have everything corrected before it went to print, it was unsuccessful. The obituaries that were handed out at the funeral had my fathers name as Clarence too. We weren't allowed to mingle and talk with family and friends who had driven 6 hours or more to pay respect, because they ushered us straight from the cars to our seats, then began the service. I don't care about the nice suits they wore or the limos they allowed us to ride in. My father and my family was disrespected with all the mistakes. It was just too much. I give them 1 star because they did a fine job making my daddy look nice.

Never have I been more horrified then watching the behavior of John Mann the funeral director of the Mann Funeral Home Nunda NY He had total disregard for his own family during the visiting hours for his Mothers funeral. His rage and anger at his son for coming to pay his respects to his grandmother was un called for. What a nightmare Mr. Mann caused. very unprofessional

my aunt was taken care of there at her viewing I saw something that was really disturbing........she had duct tape around her lower arms what for? I have no idea but I will never suggest anyone go there I know this was something that was not right

I would like to share my story with any one that is going to consider James Evans Funeral Home To complete there Family's Last wishes. Me and my family went to the Evans Funeral Home Aug 19 2011 When I lost my mother . These people were Very Kind Very Respectful and Very Considerate to my family . They went above and beyond For my family . They are Very understanding of people finances and Did there very best to help my family . And so that is why my family went back to them sadly again this year When my father past away . Witch was even harder to pay for because my father didn't believe in paying for his death before hand .. yea I no some people would think that is dumb well yes and no .. So me being the youngest of my dads five children . It was left to me to pay because The Evans Funeral Home new I was the only one that could pay for my father.. So once again these wonderful people help my family every way they could .. And for that I got to lay my father to rest with my mother were he wanted to be.. So I would love to tell every one this is the best place you could go to take care of your family last wishes .. Because these people will do a 100% job For you .. So I would like to say again to The Evans Funeral Home thank you again from the bottom of my heart .. Melissa Butler & Butler Family
