I recently attended a funeral service on a 90 degree day and the funeral director did not provide air conditioning to the family and relatives attending the funeral. When I inquired as to why there was no AC on, the funeral director said it was broken. He further stated why was I asking now when the funeral was coming to a close. His attitude was dismissive and he lied because I felt air coming from one vent located in the entry of the funeral room. I would never recommend this funeral service as their customer service clearly is lacking.

In contacting this funeral home with regard to the burial of a Veteran, I found them to be very elusive in providnig information to the point that they did not want the American Legion to attend the burial because "there will not be any services". When I told them we just want to pay our respects regardless of the lack of services, I received the same response - "there are not going to be any services - we just drop him off and the Veterans cemetery buries him at their leisure".

I feel that I must say that the Mertz Funeral Home staff must be the best and most dedicated in their field. During the last 6 months my family has lost both of our parents and an aunt who was vfery close to all of us. The staff at Metz took care of so many things and helped us with all of the details that they knew we would be unfamiliar with. They were great!

Hixson Funeral Home has gone down hill and I would not recommend them to take care of even a pet. They have lesbians living together in the funeral home and running the place. I was embarassed to see such a mess. Use Myers or Labby or even Leslie before ever sending your loved one to Hixsons,

My Aunt's service was July 3, at Rural Cemetary, at the spot her flatstone was going to be placed. All services were paid up front, but as of Jan, 2013, still no stone, Woman was very rude and insensitive, when I could finally get past their answering service, saying it was MY fault for not saying where the site was! Larry saw it, he was there! The woman said I had to call the stone engraver myself-wasn't that their job? Unpleasant experience, they just don't want to admit their mistake, I talked to other directors who agree with me, as does my attorney. Avoid this place, they just don't care...
